About & Curriculum for Yoga Teacher Training

About the Yoga Teacher Training

My 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training is designed for students who want to deepen their understanding of yoga in a meaningful and structured way—whether their goal is to teach, strengthen their personal practice, or both.

More than a certification program, this training is a comprehensive educational experience that develops confident, capable teachers through study, practice, mentorship, and hands-on application. Students explore anatomy, movement principles, sequencing, breathwork, philosophy, communication, and teaching methodology while building the skills necessary to teach with confidence and clarity.

The curriculum balances the physical and philosophical dimensions of yoga, helping students develop technical skill alongside personal awareness. Through a combination of discussion, practice, observation, and frequent teaching experience, participants learn how to guide classes that are safe, adaptable, and responsive to a wide range of students and bodies.

Open to dedicated beginners, longtime practitioners, and aspiring teachers alike, the program encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and steady growth. The focus is not on perfection, but on building a strong foundation, developing confidence, and learning how to share yoga with clarity, integrity, and purpose.

Yoga Teacher Training Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is designed to provide a well-rounded foundation in both the physical and philosophical aspects of yoga. Students study anatomy and biomechanics to better understand how the body moves and how to support safe, sustainable practice. Movement analysis, alignment principles, and intelligent sequencing are emphasized to help future teachers develop clarity and confidence in how they guide themselves and their students.

The program also includes study of yoga philosophy and history, offering context for the practice beyond physical postures. Breathwork is integrated as a tool for awareness and nervous system regulation, alongside practical teaching methodology that focuses on communication, observation, and effective instruction.

Students participate in regular practice teaching throughout the training, developing their skills through repetition, feedback, and hands-on experience. Additional emphasis is placed on adaptation and accessibility, helping future teachers learn how to support a wide range of bodies, experience levels, and needs. The ethics of teaching yoga are also explored, reinforcing the responsibility of creating safe, respectful learning environments.

Who This Teacher Training is For

This training is designed for students who want to deepen their understanding of yoga in a meaningful and structured way. Some participants may plan to teach professionally, while others are looking to strengthen their personal practice and study more intentionally.

The program is a strong fit for:

  • Aspiring yoga teachers seeking a grounded, well-rounded foundation
  • Current practitioners wanting a deeper understanding of alignment, philosophy, and sequencing
  • Students who value thoughtful, structured learning environments
  • Individuals who want to learn how to teach safely, clearly, and confidently
  • Anyone interested in exploring yoga beyond the physical postures alone

No prior teaching experience is required. Students do not need to be advanced practitioners or feel “ready” to teach before beginning. What matters most is a genuine commitment to practice and learning, curiosity about the process, and willingness to engage fully in the experience.

Principles And Philosophy

Principles of Yoga Teacher Training & Teaching Philosophy

This training is grounded in the belief that yoga is a structured, intelligent practice that benefits from clarity, consistency, and thoughtful instruction. Students learn to approach movement with attention to breath, purpose, and sustainability while developing a deeper understanding of how and why yoga works.

The teaching approach emphasizes respect for yoga’s traditions while remaining relevant to modern practitioners. Rather than following trends or surface-level interpretations, students are encouraged to teach from a place of study, practice, critical thinking, and lived experience.

Accessibility remains an important principle throughout the training, with a focus on helping future teachers support a wide range of bodies, backgrounds, and experience levels. The goal is to develop teachers who can guide others with confidence, clarity, and a grounded understanding of both the physical and philosophical dimensions of yoga.
