You learn to teach by teaching. That’s something I knew I wanted to build into Foundations of Flow from the beginning. Starting in the first week, trainees will practice teaching aloud — first in small pieces, then gradually building toward longer sequences as the training progresses. Every Saturday includes time to teach, observe, receive feedback, and try again. Because confidence doesn’t come from knowing every cue or having the perfect sequence. It comes from practice. From learning to really see the people in front of you. From finding the words that are clear and useful. And from becoming more comfortable using your own voice. Foundations of Flow is designed to give you the knowledge you need to teach — and plenty of opportunities to actually practice doing it. That’s something I knew I wanted to build into...

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what I want a new yoga teacher to understand before stepping in front of a room. Not just how to sequence a class, but how to understand why you’re asking someone to move a certain way. How breath shapes the practice. How to give clear, useful cues without filling every second with words. And how yoga philosophy can actually inform the way we teach and live, rather than simply becoming something we memorize. Those ideas are at the heart of Foundations of Flow. I want this training to give future teachers a strong foundation while also teaching them to think, question, practice, and eventually find their own voice as a teacher. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what I want a new yoga teacher...

Grateful for the opportunity to spend time with lululemon Ambassadors from across the region today, connecting, reflecting and thinking intentionally about what’s next. We spent some time working through our purpose, vision and goals, and mine feels especially meaningful right now: leading my first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about not just what I want to teach, but the kind of teachers I hope to help develop. My goal is to create a thoughtful, high-quality training that helps aspiring teachers feel comfortable in their own skin and confident teaching from a grounded, authentic place. Foundations of Flow: 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training I’m excited to officially open applications for my first 200-hour yoga teacher training. Foundations of Flow is a comprehensive 17-week training designed to deepen your personal practice while giving you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to teach yoga with clarity and purpose. We’ll explore anatomy, philosophy, sequencing, breath, meditation, teaching methodology, and the practice of actually teaching, with plenty of time to integrate what we learn along the way. The training will be held at Moon Yoga in Columbia, Missouri, January 1 through April 25, 2027. I’m keeping this first cohort intentionally small, with a maximum of 10 students. Spent some time on the mat with the Missouri Valley University Women’s Volleyball team! 🏐🧘‍♀️ We moved, stretched, worked together, and definitely laughed a lot. I love bringing yoga into a team setting—not just for the movement, but for the chance to slow down, connect, and do something a little different together. Grateful to spend the afternoon with another cohort of MU Health Care nursing residents as part of their wellness program. The first year of nursing brings so much learning, responsibility, and change. I appreciate that their residency program makes space for wellness alongside clinical training. It was a privilege to share a few simple practices they can hopefully return to on the hard days and on the good ones alike. Thank you to all of the nurses and healthcare professionals who care for our communities every day.
